  "text": "An elective official after having filed with the city treasurer full information relative to his service with a record of the salary received, as provided in this Part, and a formal declaration of retirement, shall be paid by the city treasurer a monthly allowance computed as provided in this Part. Such checks shall be drawn against the retirement allowance fund and shall bear such signatures or counter-signatures as are required for the payment of other valid obligations of the city.",
