Beginning January 1, 2001, no person shall engage in or conduct, or advertise or hold himself out as engaging in or conducting the business of, or acting in the capacity of a home inspector within the state without first obtaining a license as provided for in this Chapter, unless as exempted in R.S. 37:1483.\n\nB. However, on January 1, 2000, any person who has been actively engaged in the business of conducting home inspections for at least one year may apply to the board for initial licensure without meeting the examination or instruction requirements.",
