  "text": "No person shall in any manner cover with water for any purpose, on the land side of any public levee or levees, any land situated upon the Mississippi River within a distance of one hundred and fifty feet from the base of any public levee.\n\nAll siphons placed over public levees upon lands bordering on the Mississippi River shall be constructed to conform to the shape of the pre-existing levee and shall be made of such length and laid in such manner as to deposit their water at a distance of not less than twenty-seven feet from the base of the public levee so crossed. No public levee shall be cut or otherwise altered for the purpose of admitting the passage or of conforming to the shape of any siphon crossing the levee.\n\nWhoever violates this Section shall be fined not more than one hundred dollars or imprisoned for not more than thirty days or both.",
